Karin Roy Andersson was born and raised in Umeå, Sweden. She received both her Bachelors and Masters degrees at the University of Arts and Crafts and Design in Gothenburg. Upon graduation, Andersson spent time in Spain collaborating with other jewelers. She then returned to Sweden where she, along with 3 other jewelers, opened “Four” – a gallery/boutique/workshop. Andersson is a long distance runner and is inspired by the methodical repetition of movement. “Multiplicity and recurrence attract me. The variations between the details become important creating patterns and rhythms. I am aiming to create jewelry where dynamic patterns form harmony and balance.”
