CONNECTOR | Jewelry as a Language of Connection
CONNECTOR — A Jewelry Exhibition Featuring Colombian Artists
Co-curated by Sarah Rachel Brown, Creator of the Perceived Value Podcast, and Ana María Jiménez, Artist of Taller sin Borde.
CONNECTOR is an international jewelry exhibition that amplifies the diverse voices of Colombian jewelry artists through adornment and storytelling. The project was initiated by artist and podcast host Sarah Rachel Brown, whose 2025 travels to Colombia to study Spanish led to meaningful connections within the country’s jewelry community. Introduced through her global art jewelry network, Sarah built relationships with Colombian artists that grew into a cross-cultural collaboration.
Drawing on her long-running podcast Perceived Value—which explores the intersections of craft, economics, and identity—Sarah recorded a special season dedicated to Colombian artists. These intimate conversations now form the foundation of a narrative that extends beyond audio into a curated exhibition of contemporary Colombian jewelry.
CONNECTOR celebrates bridge-builders: individuals who move between cultures, disciplines, and communities to foster connection. Each featured artist contributes a work that is deeply personal and expressive, inviting dialogue not only within the exhibition but also with its audiences. Together, the podcast series and exhibition highlight jewelry’s power as both an artistic medium and a tool for cultural exchange.
The Exhibition & Podcast Series
CONNECTOR features 16 Colombian contemporary jewelry artists and will open at Gallery Loupe in Montclair, NJ, on November 15th, 2025, and run through December 20th, 2025.
Five* of the participating artists are also featured in the Perceived Value podcast’s Colombian series, allowing their voices and perspectives to be heard in both visual and narrative form. This special podcast series begins in October with the final episode released the week before the exhibition opens.
